第二次世界大戦のフィリピンにおける兵士
＜第一段階：暴力＞
―直接的暴力

第二次世界大戦中、子どもを含めた罪の無いフィリピン市民が、日本兵によって殺された。また、フィリピン女性は強姦され、「従軍慰安婦」となった。さらに、多くのフィリピン兵は詳細な調査なしに捕えられ、日本人兵によって、苦痛を与えられた。
＊現在
一部の第二次世界大戦時中のフィリピン兵は視覚障害、聴覚障害などを持ち、足や腕を切断するような身体障害者となった。また、マラリアや結核、熱帯特有の病気、精神病にかかる者もいた。彼らの家族から軽視されている者もいるほどである。
―構造的暴力
貧困やアメリカからの財政補助が不足していることが挙げられる。また、政府によって承認されている給付金と軍務の再構築にジレンマを感じている。
＜第二段階：自力更生＞
戦後、何人かの兵士は、いい仕事を見つけるために勉強を続けた。また、少しの資金で家畜を売ったり買ったりすることに従事していた。彼らはまた、FFVO（FEDERATION OF FILIPPINO VETERANS ORGANIZATION）に所属していた。
＜第三段階：阻害要因＞
勉強するための資金不足や仕事をするための資金不足、病気やその他の政府からの資金不足が挙げられる。
＜第四段階：連帯＞
ネグロス東部では、病気や、入院費を支払うための補助が無い兵士たちは、無料の治療や入院のための州の病院のような政府の病院に送られる。
IDCARDは、兵士として認められ、彼らは利益を（給付金）得ることができる。
＜第五段階：関与＞
日本人の生徒・市民として、他の日本の生徒に、第二次世界大戦の日本人とフィリピン人の背景にある本当の出来事を、気づかせるためにエクスポージャーで集めた情報や知識を分かち合う。そして、フィリピンにおいて日本人はどのように貢献するか、考える。

World War II Filipino Veterans
＜First step: violence＞
‐direct violence
①PAST situation
Innocent Filipino civilians including children were killed by Japanese soldiers. And Filipino Women were raped and became “Comfort Women’’. Many Filipino soldiers were captured without any further investigation. During the WW2 Filipino soldiers who were executed the Japanese soldiers tortured them.
②PRESENT situation
Some WW2 Filipino Veterans are disabled. Like suffering from blindness, deafness, amputated legs and arms. Sickness like Malaria, tuberculosis and any tropical diseases.
Including mentally sick, also. And neglected by their own families.
‐structural violence
Poverty and lack of financial assistance from the United States of America. Dilemma in restructuring their service record for them to avail the benefits and to be recognize by the Government.
＜Second step: self reliance＞
After the war some of the veteran soldiers continue their studies to find a good job. Some veteran soldiers with their small capital engage themselves in buying and selling cattle. They also have FEDERATION OF FILIPINO VETERANS ORGANIZATION.
＜Third step: obstacles＞
Lack of financial support for studies. And lack of capital for business. Illness or sickness. And Lack of financial support from the government.
＜Forth step: Solidarity＞
Veterans who are sick and nothing to support to pay their hospitalization were sent to government hospital like Provincial Hospital in Negros Oriental for free treatment and accommodation. The WW2 recognize the Guerilla are waiting for the passage of the Filipino Veterans Equity Bill. Identification Card for them to be recognize as Veterans and can avail benefits.

As a Japanese student and citizen I will share my knowledge and information that I gathered in this exposure to let the other Japanese students be aware of the real events behind the Japanese and Filipino soldiers during the World War II. And what had Japanese contributed in the Philippines.
